painter / painting instructor / graphic artist
A call to find beauty – large or small, and irrespective of the overall content or narrative – is what resonsate with me. As a trained designer, I lean toward expressing graphic elements – shape, proportion, alignment, and scale. As a painter, colour (always!), texture, and contrast of value fuel my reaction.
For MUSE, I explored works on paper and played with a variety of materials – silver paper, water-based markers and graphite, mylar, photographs, ink, charcoal, cheesecloth, and collage. It was wonderful sharing studio space with my fellow ‘musers’, and I am grateful for the opportunity it presented.
